I made these leaves from the leftover 'fabric' made here for Rose City Quilters Christmas meeting. They have been placed onto the background, some organza/netting over the top then I stitched around each leaf. I decided that I would like to cut away or burn away some of the organza, but the leaves wouldn't be attached to the background - so back to the sewing machine with some clear monofilament for the top thread. Then it was out with the soldering iron to melt away some of the netting and to burn holes through some of the leaves.
There isn't a lot of quilting around the leaves, but I like it as it is - quite tactile :)
