The other morning I threw out some bread with fat on it, on the lawn, and one of the local magpies came over to look and taste. Every morning since, he taps on the window and chortles to me. Managed to get a photo of him this morning:

Sewing Up A Storm!
Four of my quilting group have been 'camping' here this weekend and sewing up a storm. From Friday night to early Sunday evening we have been ensconced inside sewing, eating, sleeping, sewing, eating, sewing, eating - you get the picture! Some have finished WIPs (works in progress), begun new quilts or just managed to get a lot more sewing done on projects that have been on the go for a while.
We all supplied food, had a bed each and the weather played it's part by being wet, cold and sunny - typical onset of winter type weather.
What fun!

Must Be On A Roll!
This is the full view of one of my entries in Rose City Quilters' Tote & Gloat Challenge - Go Green!
It WON 1st in the Advanced Category, THEN
Best Contemporary!
It was such a tongue-in-cheek idea and I really didn't think I had a chance against some of the other entries - getting Best Contemporary was just the icing on the cake!
Our judge was Sandra Meech from the UK. Sandra was also our guest speaker for the day and then gave a 2 day workshop using mixed media in our quilts - fantastic ideas, so many things to think about and do, with some pretty neat things to use and have fun with!
