Lots of Stitches and a Little Paint

Another block finished for #3 S.I.X. challenge. Continuing with the theme (broadly speaking) of primitive art, I have drawn and stitched an Incan Sun God. Just free motion quilted straight lines with a pale yellow rayon thread to represent sunlight:
"Coloured" in the sun with Tsukineko all-purpose inks, so that this is the final look:
Hope you have had a creative weekend!

Thank you - sometimes it's just as effective having simple straight lines :)

So cool - well done, Erilyn!

How do you get the inks to behave? When I've used them they seem to bleed all over - any tips?

Hi Chris. I talked with my friend Liz (tizart) and she has found that using Textile Medium, either before or after colouring with crayons or pencils was fine. I'm just wondering if it depends on how much size is still left in the fabric - I would certainly do a sample first!
